The SoMod company was founded 1998 to assist mainly German furniture companies enter the UK market by marketing and presenting their products to the British furniture retail industry.

UK is a hard market for any new company to get into let alone companies not based in UK where time, language and cultural differences all add to the perceived barriers of doing business with foreign companies. Having German speaking staff, a UK office and warehousing enabled us to get round these difficulties. We found we were soon delivering products to Courts, House 0f Fraser and John Lewis stores.

Then along came the internet with online sales and a view to the future opened up to those who had a range of modern contemporary fashion furniture, so long denied to the British buying public who could only buy what furniture retailers decided to offer them … Expensive Traditional to Cheap throw-away. The modern mid market designer furniture area was open for those with vision… Internet companies selling furniture online at affordable prices.

We supply trade customers through our wholesale department which imports Jockenhofer and h+h furniture products from Germany. SoMod Interiors also retails direct to the end-user via this secure website.

www.somod.co.uk sells contemporary modern furniture mostly sourced direct from our factory partners in Mainland Europe thus cutting out the middle man. Q. Can you send me a catalogue or brochure?
A. As the fashion furniture industry is developing and replacing products frequently, our manufacturing partners don’t offer detailed brochures. However you are welcome to select the ‘e-mail to a friend’ option to show them an item you like.

Q. How easy is it to order items from SoMod?
A. Simply click the “add to basket” button then carry on shopping. When you’ve finished selecting items, click the “View Basket” button check to make sure that all your selected items are listed then click “Checkout” button and complete the order form. At this time you will be asked to enter your personal & credit card details. Your order may then be sent via our secure server. If you are not yet sure about online shopping, print off your order and fax it to us on +44 (0)1235 818 141.

Q. How come your prices are so good?
A. SoMod selects and buys products direct from the manufacturers to obtain the best possible pricing. The result is better retail prices.

Q. Do your prices include VAT?
A. Yes, all prices quoted on the SoMod web site are inclusive of VAT at the standard rate.

Q. What are your delivery charges?
A. All prices quoted will attract a delivery charge for Mainland England & Wales of 10% of the purchase price up to a maximum delivery charge of £50.00 per order. Outside these areas will carry an additional delivery charge that will be advised upon receipt of order.

Q. Are my credit card details safe?
A. All credit card details are encrypted and passed through a secure payment provider, SECPay Ltd. somod.co.uk are not advised of credit card details for online purchases. In the event that credit card details are advised to us by you by placing an order by telephone, these details will be cross-cut shredded on completion of order processing.

Q. Can I change the details of my order prior to delivery taking place?
A. Yes. However, we would ask that you contact us immediately you know the changes you wish to make. Please bear in mind that in some instances changes to an order may involve a delivery delay and that the original estimated time of arrival may not be met.

Q. I’ve changed my mind and want to cancel the order.
A. If delivery has not yet taken place; you may cancel your order for a full refund, provided that the items ordered are not being manufactured specially to your specifications. Please contact us without delay to stop the order process.

Q. As SoMod only sells contemporary fashion furniture is availability reduced?
A. Product selections are based round product launches at major European trade shows. These tend to take place during Winter, Spring and Autumn. With this timetable fashion products are likely to have a relatively short life on the website. However, we will always try maintaining a supply of items that prove popular.

Q. Will you contact me to arrange a suitable delivery date?
A. You will receive a communication giving an estimated delivery date, and this will be confirmed by our logistics partners. Should any unforeseen delay occur, you will be notified immediately. If the advised delivery date is not suitable, please contact us to re-arrange.

Q. What do I do if my goods arrive damaged?
A. Although we take every precaution to avoid damaged goods being delivered, minor damages can occur during shipping. If this occurs, we need to know immediately so that remedial action can be taken without delay. Please keep hold of all original packaging, instructions and hardware in case the item needs to be returned to the manufacturer.
